Substitution of commercial feed and minor Lemna in making fish feed on the physical characteristic of feed

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to ascertain how the physical characteristics of fish feed were affected when Lemna minor was used in place of commercial feed. A completely randomized design (CRD) including three treatments, one control (commercial feed), and three replications was employed in this experimental study. Treatments consisted of treatment K, which consisted of commercial feed, and treatment A, A consisting of 18% Lemna minor, 78% commercial feed, and 4% tapioca flour. Treatment B consisted of 20% Lemna minor, 76% commercial feed, and 4% tapioca flour. Treatment C consisted of 22% Lemna minor, 74% commercial feed, and 4% tapioca flour. Physical analysis of the feed was carried out, consisting of color, hardness level, solubility, and attractiveness of the fish feed. The results of the study showed that all fish feeds were brown, but commercial feed (K) was light brown with a bright color, while fish feed made according to the treatment was blackish brown and somewhat opaque (A, B, and C). The results of the ANOVA test related to the level of feed hardness showed a significance value at a 95% confidence level of 0.604, or P > 0.05, which means that no treatment affected the physical properties of the fish feed made. Meanwhile, feed solubility and feed attractiveness showed that the treatment had a significant effect on the physical quality of fish feed.
